Define Objectives
We begin each project by making sure that we understand exactly what a client is trying to achieve.
Some clients provide us with a formal request for proposal (RFP) while with others our initial understanding is gained through more informal discussion.
Either way, at this stage of a project, we typically ask a lot of questions. We want to be sure that we understand why the client is considering research and how they plan to use the research results. The answers help us to establish whether research really can help the client to achieve what they want to and also to determine what methodology is best suited to the particular situation.
