Report Findings
Once we have analyzed the client’s data we synthesize and report the results. For most projects we provide both written and oral reports, but some clients only want a written report while others want multiple oral reports (for different stakeholder groups). Details of the reporting procedure are described in the proposal for each project.
In our reports, we are particularly mindful of two things. First, we are careful to ensure that all of the research questions identified are comprehensively addressed. Second, we include a lot of specific, data-driven, and actionable recommendations. We have had feedback from our clients saying that they really appreciate the fact that our reports not only summarize the research results, but that they also provide specific recommendations about what actions could be taken based on the research results.
In terms of style, we write our reports in a way that ensures that virtually any stakeholder affected by the research results can read and understand the reports, but also so that detailed statistical information is available to those who want this information. For this reason, we tend to include statistical detail in footnotes, appendices, and report supplements so that the main body of the report is easily readable for all of those likely to do so. Similarly, we include all research results in our reports, but typically use the body of the report to discuss and interpret significant results and relegate insignificant results, frequencies, and so forth to appendices.
